Marian's long stint at club is at an end

Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 07:30

MARIAN McMinn's 24-year stint at Derby County has come to an end.

Marian, who is married to former Rams winger Ted McMinn, filled a number of roles during her time with the club, first at the Baseball Ground and then Pride Park Stadium.

She was secretary to various managers, assistant club secretary and PA to Keith Loring when he was chief executive, before she took on the job of club secretary when Keith Pearson left in 2004. It was a post she held until March, when she stepped down.

Clare Morris arrived from Leicester City to replace Marian, who became PA to Adam Pearson, the Rams' chairman of football.

The club say they cannot now justify a full-time PA to the chairman of football.

Many people are sure to miss Marian because she has been a fantastic servant to the club.

I would like to add my own personal thank-you to her for being a friendly, helpful voice on the end of the phone, especially when I needed to unravel the game's rules and regulations.
